About ISPU

One of the leading universities in the UK in the field of International Teacher Education

We are one of the leading universities in the UK in the field of International Teacher Education with experience gained over nearly forty years and we design tailor-made and externally commissioned short courses to sponsors’ requirements.

We work directly in partnership with overseas National Ministries of Education worldwide, key Education Universities, British Council Representations and on programmes funded by the Asian Development Bank.  We are commissioned by them to design and run programmes on a regular basis and to conduct educational consultancies.

Programmes we offer

We provide training programmes for international Teachers at Primary, Secondary and Tertiary levels, Subject Teachers, ELT Teacher Trainers, University English Teachers, Bilingual Teachers, Teachers working in CLIL contexts and Teachers teaching through the Medium of English (EMI).

Social Programme

As an integral part of our programmes, we include field trips and cultural visits to locations of social, historic and cultural interest to enable participants to enjoy a wide and diverse range of experiences during their stay in Britain.

We visit locations such as London, Oxford, Bath, Portsmouth, Arundel, °ËØÔ±¬ÁÏ and Brighton as well as nearby villages in Sussex.

Participants are given a briefing on the history of the destinations, suggestions of what to do or look for, and details of websites for further information and to follow up their own interests.

Cultural Activity Programme

We want participants to enjoy the experience of living and studying in Britain.

Programmes include a full schedule of cultural activities, such as talks by invited speakers, cultural evenings and social occasions.

Participants will have opportunities to meet British people and people from other countries, and gain insights into British life and to meet and interact with other international teachers at the University.

Recent cultural events have included:

  • Visit to an 18th Century Village Pub once frequented by the English Poet, Artist and Mystic, William Blake
  • International cultural evening
  • Barn Dance with live musicians and attendance by local Morrismen (a very old form of traditional English village dancing)
  • Evening talks by visiting speakers
